Journey to the Heart – New brand refresh
I am often asked, what the symbol on the walls and the ceiling of the Yoga Journey studio means and why I chose it? The answer is - it is the symbol of the Heart Chakra and it has deep meaning for me and this amazing community. The heart chakra represents unity, collaboration, love, connection, forgiveness, compassion, acceptance and so much more. These are the core values of Yoga Journey. They are important to me and the foundation from which I built my vision. There couldn’t have been a more perfect name for our yoga studio than Yoga Journey and I consider it a real privilege to not only have created it but to be a witness to its evolution through our community and through the teachers who have used it as their classroom.
When I set out on this journey, 25 years ago there wasn’t much of a yoga community in South Florida. I knew I needed to feel connected to like-minded people and that we all needed to feel connected to something bigger than ourselves. People need to feel like they belong. The studio and the community embodies a feeling of open arms and a sense of hospitality to all who come to participate in the programming. I am so proud to see how many incredible relationships have developed.
My overall vision has many dimensions. It began with a dynamic studio as the hub of all things Yoga Journey. From the studio we offer weekly classes, workshops, community gatherings and events. We are also a Registered Yoga School and offer retreats and trainings worldwide. Over the years we have graduated almost 200 Teachers that are sharing their love for yoga not only in South Florida but have expanded throughout the country, into Europe and South America. Whether you come to practice, train or connect with others we are creating ripples that expand beyond our wildest dreams.
I am so proud of my graduates and see their successes as they flourish as teachers. Each of them offering the best of themselves and developing their own relationships with their students. They have grown so much and are creating special ripples of their own, so as a collective we can continue to cultivate a global community.
I know that many people now consider South Florida their “home” because of this vibrant community. This is proof that the concept is working and I will continue to do the work of spreading love and connection where ever I can and work to inspire other teachers to do the same.
